Posted May 20, 200816 yr comment_248110 Are there any Z shows in the New England area? I never see any on the calendar on this site, and I couldn't find anything by googling. May 21, 200816 yr comment_248233 The Northeast Z Adventure - 2008 June 21 - Show on the lawn June 17 - Special Tour of Saratoga Racecourse Location: Saratoga Springs, New York – great tourist destination town (See www.Saratoga,com.) and it’s just down the road from another great place, Lake George (www.lakegeorgechamber.com). Rain or shine, this is a fun location! Co-sponsored by ZANY (the Z Association of New York) and the Saratoga Automobile Museum, 110 Avenue of the Pines (See www.saratogaautomuseum.org.) The Saturday show will be a fun people’s choice event on the Museum’s green lawn. There will be trophies in ten classes and “Best in Show.” Tee shirts to the first 30 entrants and dash plaques to the first 50. There will be a new exhibit on the main-floor gallery and the nice continuing collection of race cars upstairs. Free admission to the Museum is included with your show registration. Note: ZANY has arranged to have a food vendor at the museum. Also, be sure to arrive Friday night in time for the ZANY hospitality room at the Marriott Courtyard in Saratoga Springs. Look for a sign in the lobby. This year we have a suite to hold the crowd more comfortably. (Stay the night in the suite, and get a better rate than for a normal room! You just have to stay up ‘till the party’s over. Contact Jeff Fox (70240z@nycap.rr.com ) if interested. First come...) There will be no autocross on Sunday. Sorry, but no venues were available to us. Instead, ZANY is offering a guided tour early Sunday at the Saratoga thoroughbred track. This is perhaps America’s most famous horse racing track and a significant hunk of amazing victorian wood construction. The tour will literally show you the facilities and arrangements on the back side of the track where the horses are kept, the stable workers (a small army of them!) live and work and the trainers work their magic. It’s $10 each and limited to the first 18 people to sign up. (Contact Jeff Fox (70240z@nycap.rr.com ) if interested.) Register and pay on-line for the show at www.saratogaautomuseum.org. It’ s $25 until June 1, then $35. ZANY reserves the right to limit registrations to only those pre-registered by June 14. In addition to the information you tell the Museum, please send a list of modifications to your car to Jeff Fox at 70240z@nycap.rr.com so he can be sure you’re in the correct class. The headquarters hotel, the Marriott Courtyard, is a luxurious 4-star downtown hotel and conference center where we have gotten a very special rate through one of the Museum’s board members. Regular $200.00 rooms will cost us just $139.00. Less expensive lodging can be found outside of town. Look for motels in the towns of Ballston Spa, Wilton, and Malta, all about 10-15 minutes away. For more info., contact Jeff Fox (70240Z@nycap.rr.com) or (518) 355-0877.
