Posted May 21, 200816 yr comment_248160 Well for those who are wondering what type of HP gains can be had from going triple.I just went to triple OER(SKs) 45mm on my car.L28 block, N42 head, MSA Stage III cams & 6-1 header 2.5" exhaust. With SUs 165 rwhp 163 torqueWith triple OERs 185 rwhp 177 torque.Still more left in motor if I changed to a more agressive cam.Tom Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28172-hp-gains-going-from-2-sus-to-3-oers/ Share on other sites

May 23, 200816 yr comment_248441 Tom,Just saw your dyno sheet...Nice gains, but it leans out pretty well in the 3500-4000 range...maybe get that fixed before changing cam? I bet that loss of torque and power are noticeablehttp://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=28252 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28172-hp-gains-going-from-2-sus-to-3-oers/#findComment-248441 Share on other sites

May 24, 200816 yr comment_248641 I've been setting my tripple Dellorto's up and just going by research and advise from friends with good results, well a nice jump on the 240 SU's I was running which were also pretty good compared to the old flat tops I had on many years ago. A reference sheet with notes I've been using to keep track of settings below just in case someones looking at going down this path. Sorry no dyno figures as it's just a bit of fun for me atm, no track work.Once I'm happy with the my final settings I'll be keen to get some figures on the dyno but having fun and learning heaps doing it slowly myself for the time being. My next plan is to install an O2 sensor to the exhaust and run it to a an LED display in the car (which can be bought in kit form for $62.00 Aussie dollars + sensor to give real time AFR readings whilst driving). This should be a big tuning help once installed.Cheers,SulioTripple Carb Info Sheet - updated 24 May 2008.pdf Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28172-hp-gains-going-from-2-sus-to-3-oers/#findComment-248641 Share on other sites

May 24, 200816 yr comment_248644 The one I'm looking at is narrow band but I believe you can get wideband also.......................ah here it is...http://www.techedge.com.au/vehicle/wbo2/5300.htmSulio Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28172-hp-gains-going-from-2-sus-to-3-oers/#findComment-248644 Share on other sites

May 24, 200816 yr comment_248686 I used a narrowband $30 O2 with a $6 voltmeter. Just shoot for .8V. Rich reads higher, lean lower. There have been several reports of less than stellar results with the Autometer AF ratio gauges, and the culprit is the O2 sensor, so if that happens to you replace the sensor before you give up on it. Are there variations?Sulio Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28172-hp-gains-going-from-2-sus-to-3-oers/#findComment-248717 Share on other sites
May 25, 200816 yr comment_248732 I was never going for mileage, so .8V is about 13:1 and I just checked at WOT and ignored everything else.
