Posted May 24, 200816 yr comment_248682 Well, it was fun while it lasted, but I'm pretty much out of the Z parts business. Yesterday the remains of my yellow car were hauled off. Not to be crushed, but by a guy who plans to strip it even further to maintain several other old Zs that he owns. So it still isn't a total loss yet. From the viewpoint of the guy who hauled it off, there was still some value left. But frankly, most of the good stuff was gone. As you can see from my sig below, there were a lot of beneficiaries, several of those 54 cars more than once. And I did keep a few parts as as spares, as my storage space permits.I had a good time helping others with affordable parts, thanks to all of you here who made parting my car (in some ways) a pleasant experience. May 24, 200816 yr comment_248698 Arne, do you have any photos of the stripped out shell so that all may see just how much can be removed before being considered DOA (or in the yellow cars case, almost DOA)? May 24, 200816 yr comment_248703 I hope that doesn't mean you're "gone". I haven't posted in a while [+2 years - you don't want to know] but you input here was very helpful while I was working on my Z.Rick [still housing the Z in the garage] Stratton - Miami, FL Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28223-out-of-the-z-parts-business-thanks/#findComment-248703 Share on other sites

Since you haven't been hanging around, you may not have seen what I've really been focusing on:http://classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30588 Arne, do you have any photos of the stripped out shell so that all may see just how much can be removed before being considered DOA (or in the yellow cars case, almost DOA)?I'm not sure that this is very representative, as every car is different. In my case, I left it on wheels and suspension for ease of removal. Turns out that I gave the shell to a guy who wanted the suspension. May 25, 200816 yr comment_248719 Arne, that's perfect. I just wanted everyone to see just how "parted out" a car could be, and all I see left on yours are some panels, and the aforementioned suspension. Great job recycling as much as possible, and helping to keep so many others motoring! May 25, 200816 yr Author comment_248724 Actually, I look at that picture now and see that I must have taken it a couple of days prior to the removal. By the time it left, the doors, harmonic balancer and timing cover had been pulled off as well. This was a complete car, not running, when I trailered it home.
