Posted May 27, 200816 yr comment_248920 I just bought a 83 280zx the gas gauge read just under a 1/4 of a tank on the little arm gauge, and E on the main gauge. I just put 9 gallons of gas in the car today and it didn't move? Can you fix the gas gauges on these cars? Is there a float in the gas tank? Any help would be helpful. May 27, 200816 yr comment_248924 There are two floats, it is possible that the connections that transmit levels to the gauge are corroded. It is also possible that the electrical connectors are loose, disconnected, or corroded. While the thread I am about to link to may not relate to your current situation, I have the feeling you will be needing to read it sooner or later...http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22301 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28247-gas-gauge/#findComment-248924 Share on other sites
