I see the shell of a Sunbeam roadster... but what makes anyone think it is a Tiger? Just curious?

Want to force the guy to sell? Get to know one of the people on the City Commission, then start writing "citizens" complaints to local Zoning Enforcement Board about the "junk yard" in question. Get the people that are trying to sell property around that "junk yard" to file complaints saying that the ugly appearance of that lot is preventing potential buyers from bidding etc.

Cars parked on lots - that do not run, are not registered etc - are usually in violation of local zoning ordinances - and the owners of the lots can face very heavy fines if they don't comply with Orders of Enforcement from the Zoning Enforcement people to clear the lot. I doubt that guy has a permit to run a recycling yard, I doubt that he has pan's under all the cars to catch oil/gas from them etc etc.

Just two residents that live in that City (whatever it is) could force the issue... Even if the area is zoned as "industrial", I doubt he can run a junk yard there.

Well - our age I guess. I can remember when you had to have a Church Key to open a can of beer, and it actually took some grip strength to crush a beer can... Of course I can also remember when all "soda" came in 6 or 8 oz. glass bottles and sold cold for a nickel. I sure wish they would put Pepsi back in returnable glass bottles... it was far better then... Some things have NOT improved with age...(present company excepted;-)..

That little "reddish" convertible sitting next to the cinderblock wall is a Sunbeam Alpine or Tiger. My Dad restored a Tiger and it's a quick little beastie. There are only about 500 of those left in the US... Just curious what engine it has in it, maybe if you're over there again you could check it out? That car is likely worth some money to the right person, as are all those Z cars as one of the previous posts mentioned (the rust belt).

What makes that strategy messed up or shady? That place looks like a real eyesore, and the cars are just going to deteriorate if they continue to be stored like that. You could make a very strong argument, as Carl intimated, that the place is an environmental hazard.

If the cars are sold, they'd be put back into circulation where people (like us) could benefit from gaining access to the parts.

They originally had a Ford 260. Then later they had the 289. People have put 302s, and even 351Ws in them.

My parents own 40 acres of property. Their are 32 cars parked on that property. Only 7 of them run. Only 3 are licenced. The neighbors complain all the time, So what? We were here first. Then to report this guy to the city just because you wanted his cars is pathetic.

Your forty acres aren't in the middle of a commercial district, and that is the difference.

Leave the man alone with this talk about 'making him sell his cars'. Besides, have you ever seen that particular 'commercial district'? You'd pretty much have to close down the whole area.
