280Z Hub Caps

So I purchased a 1975 280Z parts car. In the back were 4 hub caps wrapped in newspaper.

I was thinking of drilling a hole in the center and putting a clock mechanism in the back. You guys think they would make great wall decorations?

NO!!! Those are original hubcaps that look to be in excellent condition. If they were put away in 1976 they should be near mint and you can get several hundred dollars for them. Those hubcaps were the same ones used on 72 and 73 240Zs. If you want to make a clock by an old junk hubcap for a couple of bucks and repaint it.

Those are from a 72/73. I have two sets, one I use for daily dring and one like those when I show it. the center piece looks great if you want to sell it let me know if you decide to make a clock of it ,one of mine fell off and looking for one in good shape.

I agree with Mike, those hubcaps are much too valuable to make a clock out of one of them. Clean them up a little bit, take pics of the fronts & backs, then list them on Ebay. Mike is also right that they were stock on '72 through '75 Zs. My son and I sold a set of 4 in similar condition for over $400.00 a couple of years ago.

They will not be turned into clocks. Just kidding about that.

The cool thing I thought of was the paper. Some one stored these out of site out of mind for a long time. They were sitting in the back of a parts car I recently picked up. The car had been sitting outside for six months. The paper would not have lasted much longer outside like that.
