harmonic damper from MSA

can this thing be mounted without the 'third pulley'. it seems as if it's been balanced (two drill holes on outside face). if it can, what's a good spacer to use so the bolt can seat properly.

thanks

MSA's info page on this pulley;

http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/PEM06/10-2139

has the following text.

"Model Restrictions: For L-Series engines only. Not for use with smog pumps, power steering, or air conditioning. "

It seems that adding pulleys is likely not an alternative with this damper. I have the same problem. Anyone need a brand new damper? I think there are two available now....

$40.00? Dang that sure seems a bit pricey for a bolt & washer package. Anyone know what the difference is between this and the stock bolt & washer?

Check out these!!

I think you can see the differences for yourself.

I bought the setup because I wanted to make sure my harmonic balancer stays on. I'm going to be using crankfire ignition with my next engine and that's kinda essential, not to mention the issues with the crank and the 'welding' of the balancer to the crank snout if things are allowed to get loose down there. Money well spent, in my opinion.

Cheers.

...got it. $40 for a bolt!!!! hell with that....i just took off a 1/4" off the length of my stock bolt and made a custom washer out of ~1/8 plate steel. i did have to shave about .0001" off the key as it was too tight for the new damper groove, and kept ramping up into the main seal. after 3 attempts it fit just right..torqued down and seated just fine.

thanks guys!
