MSA's New Konig Imagine Wheels

I've been keeping my eyes on a few wheel ideas, but, MSA now has a newer version of the Konig Imagine wheel. It's 17x7 and, from their website, they have got some special versions just for the early 4-lug Z's.

These wheels look pretty good. Does anyone else have them installed? I've only found a few threads about the wheel on our site. From what I can tell, the older version needed a spacer, but, the newest version has the spacer designed into the wheel form. MSA says these were built just for the early cars.

I really like the overall look.....But the size of the disc brake makes the 17" rim look disproportional. The whole point of having bigger wheels was to fit a larger diameter brake rotor, so it may not look right unless you've got bigger disks. I think it might not look right with the rear drum set-up, too.

Too bad they don't have them in 16s or 15s. Those sizes would like better with the stock brake configuration.

But, if you're looking for an excuse for bigger brakes......

Very little dish on these. I'm not a favourite of putting modern designs on older cars. They just don't look right unless other mods are done to complement them.

My thoughts as well. IMO that stlye is better suited on FWD ricers with larger brake setups.

I find it rather humorous that people are knocking many of the modern wheel designs that have a large positive offset (resulting in a no lip).

Go and take a look at the OEM steel wheels with the hub caps. Or how about a 14x5.5 or 6 inch Mini-lite or Watanabe. Hell, even a 5.5 inch wide 5-slot mag does not have much lip at all, certainly not more than a +25 to +35 7-in. wide wheel.
