z therapy installation

Featured Replies

i just complete my conversion over to the z therapy su carb setup on my 73 z and i'm very pleased with the result. I was curious as to those who have the same setup what has been their cold start strategy as far as the choke, etc. do you pump the accelerator at all or just open the choke, wait and fire. all carbs are a little different and i wondered what members have found works best.

There is no accelerator pump on an SU so tapping the throttle doesn't do anything. Just pull the choke all the way back and keep cranking ....

many thanks, i learn a little each day. a little more, now that we have the internet.

This maybe overkill on my part, but I always turn the engine over without the choke to get some oil pressure. My Z starts fast and revs a bit with the choke on during a cold start. Jon
