Posted June 5, 200816 yr comment_249824 What do you think of the new series of plates in Newfoundland. Appearently Sailor Bob is a title that is plateworthy. Actually photo shop at work. The 2800 is for real though, had to wait for a year it to be printed. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28333-new-plates/ Share on other sites

June 5, 200816 yr comment_249875 I went the other way. I ditched the modern Oregon plates for a set of vintage plates. A mild inconvenience and expense, but they look 'correct' on the car to this old Oregon native. I did have a bit of luck, in finding August plates to put on my July production car. June 6, 200816 yr Author comment_249944 I have a blue set from California, would they be the originals? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28333-new-plates/#findComment-249944 Share on other sites
June 6, 200816 yr comment_249946 I went with vintage plates on my MGB, but unfortunately, GA stopped producing year specific plates in 1971 and went with stickers for each year after that, so I just went with 240ZED on the Z. June 6, 200816 yr comment_249947 I have a blue set from California, would they be the originals? For a 77 I believe blue would be original. 3 numbers, 3 letters somewhat earlier than 'VKP' because those were the three letters on the original Cali plates for my 5/78. June 8, 200816 yr comment_250090 I was very lucky in finding vintage plates for my 2 Datsuns. A friend of mine is a plate collector and just "happen" to have a very low number for the Z, county and last name letter correct. The 81 BONZI plate (car's name) was the first year personal plates were available in KS, thus being very plain. KS is also a "one plate State" except "vanity", so any plate can be up front if the legal one is on the back. He also had a county correct 1968 for the Roadster, in the right colors. Just got my paperwork from the State, both are legal and Antique. June 8, 200816 yr Author comment_250092 315 TPZ = Blue plate numbers. I guess I am in luck, I may put one on the front bumper, although that could look weird - I am not a fan of the front bumper plate for the 280 - the off centre thing.
