Posted June 16, 200816 yr comment_250931 I just replaced worn bushings on the trailing arms and put back the front sway bar from Suspension technique with urethane bushings. On small bumps at low speed, the front end squeaks... Is it beacuse of the urethane bushings??? June 16, 200816 yr comment_250940 Suspension Techniques urethane products come with a small packet of silicone grease-the grease goes in every metal to urethane contact. The grease is available from autoparts stores-at least in my area. Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28442-noisy-sway-bar/#findComment-250940 Share on other sites
June 16, 200816 yr Author comment_250949 OK, that may explain the noise..But I di not want to desinstall..and reinstall again..can I leave them that way?? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28442-noisy-sway-bar/#findComment-250949 Share on other sites
June 16, 200816 yr comment_250951 As long as the noise doesn't bother you-but they will wear faster without the lubricant. Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28442-noisy-sway-bar/#findComment-250951 Share on other sites
June 16, 200816 yr comment_250955 You can also drill holes and tap them to accept zerk fittings. Then just drill a corresponding hole in the bushing itself so that you can lube them regularly. Teflon tape and lube only last so long, being able to add more lube without taking the thing apart is a good idea.Zerk fittings: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93541 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28442-noisy-sway-bar/#findComment-250955 Share on other sites

June 16, 200816 yr comment_250961 Jon, did you groove the bushing all the way around so the grease had somewhere to go? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28442-noisy-sway-bar/#findComment-250961 Share on other sites
June 16, 200816 yr comment_250962 No. I figured the bar would spread it around. Not a bad idea though!EDIT-- I should also say that I called Energy Suspension and they said normal moly grease was fine for use with poly bushings. June 21, 200816 yr comment_251420 It could be the rubber bushings at the ends of the sway bar. Just a guess.Frank Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28442-noisy-sway-bar/#findComment-251420 Share on other sites
