I would be surprised if the Lex motor would not be rejected by your Z.... There is a long history of competition between Toyota products and Nissan products. Kind of like putting a Ford engine in a Chevy.. Why would any right thinking person do this????

Anyway , I also doubt the Lex motor will make more power than an RB engine..

Good luck anyway ,,, It's your money.

Hey Spooge,

I wouldn't be put off so easily on the Lexus idea, from memory they are a pretty mean little V8 and as their all alloy I'd imagine pretty light as well. They shouldn't mess with the Zed's handling too much and a R200 (LSD or not) should be able to take the power..... Hmmmmm, not a bad thought, although I'm still taken with putting a VG30DETT in mine :classic:

What kind of figures do those engines put out?

Cheers,

R.

I wasn't saying the lexus v8 would put out more power, It was just cheaper. lexus v8 is full alloy 175kilos

but for 5 grand cheaper id rather get a nice paint job and some rims can always chuck a big blower on the side later on.

From what i see more ppl are putting in V8's then RB engines, well in america anyway. Don't get me wrong I am a huge fan and if I had the money i would be putting in the RB26.

What do you run in yours smg1404??

But thanks for the advice, I am not jumping to any conclusions but it still is a serious thought, That black rig on this page is pure awesome the kazaa vidz are worth download darious 240z is around 4 mpegs, that seems to handle all right and that is some serious engine.

Hey dohc,

Thanks for the vote of confidence, VG30dett will be an interesting convertion indeed, Found some specs on the lexus V8 if they were the figures you were looking for

At the heart of our replicas is a 4.0 Litre, 32 Value, Quad Cam, All Alloy V8. These motors are technologically advanced, delivering ultimate performance yet meeting the most stringent emissions standards, as well as providing excellent fuel economy. In standard form these motors produce 205kws (300 hp). The crisp sound from the four tail pipes rivals that of any "Supercar", leaving other drivers to inspect where the melody is coming from.

cheers

I am running a stock L24 with a different set of carbs and headers.. I am getting back into autocrossing, and mostly just drive locally, (not much highway). So I don't need ton's of power to be happy. Still I feel I have a pretty quick ride.
