September 1, 200222 yr comment_14533 nitrous is something you could get away with on a newer engine...but i wouldnt recommend it on an old 280z. plus im totally against nitrous, and really dont like forced induction either.a V8 would certainly to the trick :classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2848-i-have-a-question-i-need-answered/?&page=2#findComment-14533 Share on other sites
September 2, 200222 yr comment_14568 300zx: - 222hp (at crank)- 7.1 (0-100)- 3212lbs280z- 149hp (at crank)- 9.4 (0-100)- 2875lbsto get the same power to weight you will need 199hp (at the crank) it should then theoretically have the same performance, sorry can't find and sites other then:http://datsunzclub.com/specifications.htmlhttp://zhome.com/History/zcarperf.html Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2848-i-have-a-question-i-need-answered/?&page=2#findComment-14568 Share on other sites
September 2, 200222 yr comment_14604 Thos numbers scared me at first, then I realized they were kph... 0-100 mph in 7.1 would be pretty quick.. Still I have to agree a stock 280 needs more poneys. Fortunately they can find them pretty easy. 0-100 mph in about 10 is not so hard to get , just a few hard earned bucks.
