My 77 was the same - came from California and looking at the paint one would think she was never under a carport. the oxidation was severe enough to have a textured feel to it and a wipe of the hand picked up residue.

I used a medium polishing compound followed with fine, that brought it back from the heavy oxidation stage. Last summer Enrique lined me up on Maquires polish and wax - worked great and has definately stood up well. Just follow the instructions on the bottle.

No doubt it took twenty five years off the age of the paint.

I have never had to bring the finish back on an original paintjob this old, but when I got my 87 red pathfinder it was almost pink

I very carefully buffed it with a high speed buffer at 1500 RPM. I started with a wool pad using 3M extra cut compound, 3M swirl mark remover and then 3M final glaze followed by hand wax.

It now looks like new!!!!

I've always used the Meguiar's products with good results. The 810 spends it's life outside so it generally needs more work than the Z or the truck. I thought I'd give this stuff a try since they claim iit does all three stages with one product. And Leno endorses it:)

Okay, my take on this stuff, after doing the hood and roof of my 810, is that it's no better than the Meguiar's products I've been using as far as the results but it is easier to use since it does it in one step. I guess I have to wait to see how long the wax part of it holds up.

How long did it take, Stephen? Would you use it on your other vehicles?

It only took about an hour to do the hood and roof. I went over each section a couple of times. Craftsman 4" buffer/polisher to work it in, 8" random orbital buffer to remove it an a few wipes with a couple of microfiber towels. It seems pretty gentle so, yes, I'd use it on the other cars.
