Posted June 23, 200816 yr comment_251708 Anyone out there familiar with a rear disc brake conversion for an early Z (280-Z ) race car that utilizes a 240/280 Z front caliper which uses a `spacer` to split the caliper halves to gain 3/4" in width which then slip over a 1" wide 11" dia vented rotor? This is what is on my vintage 280Z race car. It has a nice hub mounted bolt-on caliper bracket ......... I`d like to duplicate this set-up. This car came from the SE part of the country many years ago. Any info on this set-up would be appreciated. June 24, 200816 yr comment_251713 Jeff,Sam can make these. It utilizes a homemade spacer and the stock o rings I believe. The spacer size depends on the type of rotor you choose. The reason I know about this is because we once thought the stock 240Z front brake set up would be more efficient than the zx option we are allowed due to the rotor (solid) being larger in diameter. June 24, 200816 yr Author comment_251720 thanks Greg, I`ll see if I can find Sam`s #. The caliper spacer should not be a problem however I`d sure like to find the caliper adaptor that mounts to the strut.
