I've been visiting the site now for a few weeks, and decided to post up photos of my new 1975' 280z. I've owned the car for about a month now, after a long time of searching.

I just wanted to introduce myself before I start firing a few questions off in hopes to get some help from some other experienced Z owners. It's nice to have found an active Z Forums with other people who are just as passionate about Z's as myself.

Gorgeous car, wheels keep the 70s vibe alive Always love to see another 280 in good nick, too many of them are in rusty beater status nowadays, so it's important to remind people that they can in fact look good. In any case, gotta love the injected L28 for smoothness and torque :bandit: Love the ticking injectors at idle...

Mine was originally that color too, til Maaco happened about 20 years ago... Sorta wish it still was, but it gives an excuse to eventually lay some citrus hues down, .

Even from the low res pics, its easy to tell your Z has a good paint job. Very nice.

Even fromt he low res picts, I would recommend getting rid of those government mandated bumpers. They are no longer mandated I think, but check your states laws.

Oh.. and the rubber antena... yeah.. that should go.

I currently reside in South Florida.

The bumpers will most likely stay: my plan is to keep the car stock. I do like the look of the aftermarket air-dams, although I just don't think I can justify that quite yet.

The paint job was in December (according to the prev. owner) and it is the original car color (#305) which is a plus, since it matches the engine bay. It also has another 1 1/2 year warranty on it, in which I will take advantage of. There are 2 or 3 small spots that need to be addressed.

I will post a photo of the engine and interior soon. I got done with an engine tune-up about a week ago, looking great; just the interior work now which is the bulk of the work needed on the car.

...oddly I came to... not quite be so offended by the 280 bumpers after looking at them for a while, so long as it's not next to a 240 I can forget that it could look any better

The only airdam style I've ever really liked is the more classic sort I often see on 240s... wish I knew what to even search for to find a specific pic. Thanks for the compliment Aggie But having seen so many nice looking orange/yellow/lime cars... (my dad's old ones included...)

Danglybanger, what color is that? It looks black, but I want to say 'dark forest green'.

...it's really a chameleon, and at times I don't even know whether to call it dark metallic gray or green... but I'm pretty sure it's one of those in any case. I don't have an interior decorator's sense of color (though people wonder if I might be at times ), colors have to be bright and obvious for me to be able to name them, hence my desire for something gaudier. I'm almost sure it wasn't even ever a color on offer by Datsun, it's an early 90s Maaco job.

I also like seeing another 280 in the club. I would keep the bumpers because they do come in handy for those small front and back bumps. They also say to others that it's a 280 and not a 240.
