Posted June 26, 200816 yr comment_252027 I know this has been a frequent topic and don't want to do it to death but there are some series 1 240z hubcaps for sale on Ebay for a meager $995.00. Ouch! I was doing the usual ebay browsing when I saw the auction. I wish them the best of luck. carl Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28559-pricey-hubcaps/ Share on other sites
June 27, 200816 yr comment_252034 I tell you what, there's some scalpers on eBay, I truly don't know what those seller think. I mean, I love my Z and everything but for God sake. Sorry, i just really dislike those guys overpricing Z parts.Alex Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28559-pricey-hubcaps/#findComment-252034 Share on other sites
June 27, 200816 yr comment_252044 I dislike the overpricing as well (because it takes all of the fun of pursuit-by-auction out of the sale). But, the bottom line is that the supply and demand market will determine the price. If nobody wants them for that price, no one is obligated to buy them. If someone is looking for a set, there they are. Personally I would wait for another set to come up at (what I consider) a more reasonable price. But, by the same token, the way harder to find Zcar parts have been increasing in price lately, I'm glad that I am not looking for a set. I looked up the auction and recognize the seller; this person IMHO almost always prices far over the limit that I would be willing to pay. Funny thing is, sometimes people buy the stuff. Just not me. The seller has a bunch of sales under his belt and pretty good feedback. So, if you don't want them, pass on them and pick up the next set that becomes available. It's like the guy selling radios on ebay.... they get listed at over $300.00, and every now and again he sells one for that price. I have purchased two of them within the last two years on ebay for $55.00 & $65.00 each, and got one in a car that I bought for $250.00. Be patient waiting for what you want at the price you want to pay. Sometimes you may have to 'adjust' the limit that you will pay, sometimes not. Simply pass up those that are in your opinion overpriced.
