Any Interest in a Inland Northwest Forum/Club ?

Hey,

I have had several people ask about any Z Clubs

in the Inland Northwest. The only clubs I know

about are over on the coast.

Anyone interested in starting a forum on here

for us Inlanders ? Mainly Idaho , Montana,

Eastern Washington , Utah and parts of Oregon.

Lots of events in these areas for us to attend

and pass on the information.

Let me know your thoughts on this one.

I am up in Coeur d' Alene ,Idaho and will

be autocrossing and hillclimbing all over

the inland Northwest next year.

I would love to help, or partner in the developement, research, or coordination of a club for us "inlanders".

If anyone is up for the task of assisting and establishing a council, I should be considered at your aid.

There is so much going on out here, and we have no representation that I can find.

TS,

Here is what I propose. First of all lets check with Mike on setting up a forum for us. On this

Forum we can post events that are coming up, big

ones are even a few guys in your area that want

to go for a run. The lower profile the Club is

the more fun you have. You will find that interests very for person to person. I would

say at first build it under the 240z.org

Forums section. It allows us to get the word

out.

I hate the idea of Presidents and officers if

we are just looking to have a great time.

One thing that this allows us to do is pool

our parts resources together. Right now I have

a Z guy from Walla Walla checking on some parts

from one of his parts cars for me. The best part

is that We would be closer for large body panel

swaps and such.

There are two large Z only Dismantlers in our area. One is located in the Salt Lake area and the

guy has around 200 Z's the other is in Southern Idaho and has over 150 cars.

I will start us off by letting you know I will be autocrossing on Sunday Septmeber 15th in Spokane.

Then again the second weekend of October at Spokane Raceway Park on the Road Course . That

event is a two day autocross. We usually have around 5 to 10 Z's at our autocross events.

If you have something like that in your area and you want somebody to join you then post it. Don't forget we can Private Message folks on here.

Thanks,

Mike

Post the location of the sept. 15th autox when you get a chance. Or, email me @ tshauk@excite.com.

Since my Z is now stripped to the unibody, I probably wont make it in that car. Be driven my Truck or the grocery getter.

Anyway, I'll do my best to bump into you there.

Oh yeah, I agree on the "officer" type administration of a club. by council I was meaning having 2 or 3 standard contact people that would be sure fire wyas to find out if anything was happening. Makes for a larger participation when you know who to call.

Just a thought, with only a few members it wouldn't matter, but I'll be a minimum of 3 years on both my projects, so I would like to see it grow into a serious "party" club.

Brian,

I really need to get the darn thing painted,

but have been holding off until I get some

of the mechanical stuff done first.

Actually I know a few folks in Oregon that

either race or get together for fun runs. I

Have driven over for the Blue Lake Datsun

show before. Plus when and if I make it to

the big Shasta Datsun Meet I will probably

pass through Oregon.

Oregon also has a few well know hillclimbs.

Hopefully I will have my car sorted enough

for the Larison Hillclimb next year or

if the Pendleton event makes it back on the

schedule next year maybe that one. There is

a hillclimb in Maryhill, WA in October just

across from the Dalles. I might also make it

over for the Road Race Enduro in October. 8

hours of road racing into the night. I will

just be a spectator at that one.

TS .... I am about 10 hours north of you ,

so it would be a long haul for a one day event.

Eastern Idaho has an autocross club and has events

down your way and also so does some of the clubs in Utah. Also some great hillclimb and other stuff

going on down your way. Let me know if you need any contact info. . I know a few Datsun racers

down your way also.
