Thanks. Wound up 2nd in class and 3rd overall after starting at the back of the field. Another Z took 1st. :)

Here are a couple of other short videos from the same race.

Used a Miata for a pick in this one. Waited longer than I should have to make the pass but it was not for a position in class except when I got by the Porsche in the video below

Thanks for the great video!! Your Z car looks good...I think that you are running ITS, what does that allow you to run for tires? and what are you using. Can you modify your suspension? if so how much? What can you run for a gearbox and Diff? It seems that there was a lot of space between your gearing that could be adjusted with the right gear combination.

I like the line you were running in your last video as it looked much smoother faster than the low line you ran early on.

Glad to see that there are others out there driving their Datsun's on the track!!

Currently running Hoosier R-6 225/50/14 on Enkei's. I have 14 and 15" panasports as well. Can only use a 7" wheel per the rules and no more than 15" diameter.

Currently running sectioned Z struts with worn out Tokicos. I have eccentrics on front and rear control arms but will be installing camber plates. I am building new struts to run revalved Bilsteins. I am currently "soft" on springs 275/250 and I am at the limit of the coilovers adjsutment to get minimal legal ride height. I will be going to 8" springs with the new struts.

I am stuck with the OEM 4 speed but currently running a 3.90 locked rear. I was short shifting into 3rd at turn 2 in the videos. Fixed that on Sunday :laugh:

The low line makes the transition off of the banking a little easier. Of course, i was "chicken braking" into 1 as it was and had to check up a couple of times to keep the guys running high from "crashing" down onto me. :stupid:

Thanks for the comments. I am still getting used to the car and this was my 3rd "official" race. I finished 1st on Sunday after Randy Shedd broke his gearbox and I popped the rockers off of #3. The brown 944 was leading but when he hit the scales he was underweight. I was 50# over and right behind him on 5 cylinders.

BTW Ron, you may have seen this car several years ago. Micheal Scott built it and raced it on the west coast. It was green and black checkerboard then.

Nice video Paul! Thanks for sharing. You just opened-up a question I asked a while back.Sounds like we have about the same suspension, I got my coil overs from ground control back in 93 did like two more races then parked it. They told me to put the 250 springs in front and the 275 in the rear? I always question that. I've asked other suspension guys about the heavier spring in the rear and they went along with ground controls instructions. The car handles great, but now you mention you have the heavy springs up frt. is this correct? In your new suspension will you be going much heavier springs? I heard of 944's out west with 400lbs up frt and thick torsion bars in rear?. I'm getting ready to go to Daytona next month Still have time to swap the springs around maybe

Pablo, there is a lot of setup information over at Hybridz. I have pretty large sway bars and I am hoping to go up to #400 front and #350 rear and much smaller diameter on the bars. Seems the west coast runs softer spring rates and larger sway bars for some reason. The current setup is how I found my car when I bought it but it could have changed as the previous owner didn't build the car.

I am just living with my current setup until I can make some intelligent choices about which way to move forward. I need to get a data system for analysis. Video and stopwatch can only go so far.

RC, I am familiar with DP. They are on my list when I get ready to purchase parts. I haven't quite decided whether to use camber plates (there is questionable legality of weld ins) or use the offsets/upper mount style.
