rob240zor Posted July 6, 2008 Share #1 Posted July 6, 2008 just bought a 280z 78'. We were trying to get it running when we encountered some electrical problems. the pickup inside the dizzy isn't getting any power. they are the red and green wire which travel from the dizzy to the transistor ignition unit. these wires don't have any current going through them. I tested the the black and white wire going to the ignition unit above the fuse box and it had power. this i believe is coming from the ignition switch. the blue wire coming out of the unit has power, and the book says it goes some where in the fuel injection part. the black wire is a ground . so the only wires that don't have power are the red and green going to the dizzy. does this mean i need a new transistor ignition unit and if so what will work and what is the best kind. or is something else causing the red and green wire to have no power. thanks roby
