Posted July 6, 200816 yr comment_252849 Well I am very disappointed and upset today, as we started stripping down the car prepping it for metal work and repair. What I found was a disaster area, the rust had eaten its way to the inner rocker panels, and the transmission tunnel. The passenger side floor had eaten its way up the firewall behind the battery, where the tail lights were was a brittle paper like substance instead of metal. The more I stripped the car down the worse it got and its to a point where it is not cost effective to bring this car back to working order or I guess I could say its beyond my military paycheck. To be blunt HLS30-293882 is dead, I will be stripping everything I can salvage for parts off the car and start looking for a good shell to work with. I cannot complain as I only paid $700 for the car and got a strong motor, good tranny, and besides the dash, everything interior wise is in good shape. The seats are not even torn or covered. In the end I got a lot of good spare parts for the next Z I find!!!So I am hoping to find a solid shell to work with, and start again.
