Posted July 8, 200816 yr comment_253000 I searched...but not sure I found my solution...Brakes were pulling pretty hard to the left on the '71. Took the right caliper off and sure enough, one of the pistons was seized. Replaced with rebuilts and bled the system (RR, RL, FR, FL).Took the car out for a test drive. Pedal feel is nice and strong, but the stills pulls to the left. Not quite as strong mind you...before it felt as if the steering wheel was being pulled out of my hands. Now feels more like a wash out and the nose goes left...Rear proportioning valve? If so, how do I adjust. If not, anything else it could be?Thanks, Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28678-brakes-pull/ Share on other sites
July 8, 200816 yr comment_253003 Soft or bad suspension bushings can cause a braking pull too, if they are soft enough that the suspension can shift slightly under braking load. As a WAG, I'd start by checking the right tension rod bushings. July 8, 200816 yr comment_253016 Don't forget your pads on the right hand side hav'nt been "bedding" onto the disc the same as the left side for a while so it may take some time to balance out. I'm assuming you did'nt change the pads when you changed the caliper pistons. Try a few hard braking sessions to hurry things along. Did you check the left hand caliper pistons as well? July 8, 200816 yr Author comment_253018 actually swapped new calipers on both sides...pads were in good shape so I left them in though... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28678-brakes-pull/#findComment-253018 Share on other sites
July 8, 200816 yr comment_253024 Check you tire pressures too... often overlooked, but if the left front tire's pressure is lower that the right, it will pull to that side. Sometimes a couple pounds pressure is all it takes.GWGarrard Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28678-brakes-pull/#findComment-253024 Share on other sites
