I'm thinking of putting a Fuel injection engine in my 240Z.. to be a little bit more green for the environment.( no more air pump on mine).

Any idea how hard and time consuming it will be ?

I guess I may want to change the trnasmission at the same time???:ermm:

I think the general census would be to just buy a 280z rather than going through all the effort to convert it to efi, unless you're up to the task. Things like the fuel tank, wiring and hoses for example would all have to be changed, added and modified. You might want to check out this thread for some more insight on this,

One of my '71s came to me with a complete injection system from an '83 ZX in it. The job was badly cobbled together. I began to research what it would take to finish the job properly, and the expense would have been huge. I ended up removing the injection and going back to SUs.

Comparing an L24 to an L28E, I really don't know how much 'greener' an EFI engine would be than an properly set up carbed engine anyway, if at all.
Oh, I suspect that by the numbers, a later L28E that uses an oxygen sensor and catalyst would be cleaner running, from the unburned hydrocarbon point of view. But the larger L28 will burn more fuel, and therefore emit more carbon dioxide, even at its best.

More importantly, for the very small number of miles that most of us drive our Zs, the total annual difference would be minute, and the theoretical benefit(s) would not be worth the considerable effort required.
