July 18, 200816 yr comment_253789 Congrats! We know you have been patiently waiting for a good deal to come along and lets keep our fingers crossed. Most of us North of the border know what it is like to buy with only the pictures provided by the seller to go by. Sure does look pretty in the pictures, but you know they all "need a little work"...famous last words. Gonna be a long 4 weeks. How are you getting it home? July 20, 200816 yr Author comment_254024 I have arrangements with an open car carrier (truck). It nerves me out a little, but there is no other choice - shipping prices range (that I have checked) from $2500 (+200 fuel surcharge) to $5600. Stings. I sent the guy a bank draft so I have to wait till it clears befor I firm up anything. Last car I used Paypal - very quick but they charge the seller a percentage + they have some tricky stuff on dollar exchanges and international purchases. I am hoping it turns out to be as nice as it appears - like I said earlier - a different type of gambling in Nevada. July 20, 200816 yr comment_254029 Hmm..is it roadworthy?Cost me $800 to get the '77 to the New York border and I brought it across myself. The shipping companies charge an arm and a leg to bring it across the border. If your interested, get a quote to Chazy, New York and find your way to Montreal. You can crash here and we'll get you across the border. (I can look up the transport company if you need. I used a broker. When I picked it up the transporter said if I ever needed another brought across to call direct and possibly save some cash...fuel has gone up mind you...).In the end, you'll only save a bit (maybe a few hundred at most), but much more fun... July 20, 200816 yr Author comment_254032 Hey Micheal - thanks - That is very generous of you. If you could give me the shipping company's name, I might ask them about a couple of scenerios. July 22, 200816 yr Author comment_254208 Prices have changed significantly - over 2K to Houlton maine - last year I could get from a Z from Redding to Houlton for around 1K. Spoke to the vendor regarding driving it - He says "I wouldn't ... all the rubber is original other than the tires" I think I will just take the financial kick in the arse and pay right through to the front door ($2740). For the cars - I wish I lived in California - I would have a fine collection.
