I found this NOS ANSA center muffler on eBay last night, to go with the twin stacks I got from Wing recently. It will be a couple of months before I get it hooked up though.

I saw that last night and was wondering why it was up there for so long! LOL

Hmm...I might have a complete ANSA exhaust to sell soon =)

Very Welcome Br0

Acording to the tracking number info it was in town at least a

week ago, don't you just love international customs :PLOL ?

Well acording to my records I have sold, all together now, about

19 ANSA's around the world.

And by my best estimations there are another 12 to 16 + from another

stash that was found out there as wells, which is where I got my 1st ANSA

from which is the famous one we all know from this pic here

post-13541-14150805826924_thumb.jpg

And actually the 1st one I ever opened when my eyes poped and

my jaw drop ^_^

So altogeher there are about 40 to 50+ (60 at maybe most) known NOS

ANSA's out there in th e world today and I'm willing to bet half of those are

not even bolted up and still with they're new owners.

Of all the places I mailed to Japan is not one of them from me, then

again it is an Italian exhaust made in Itali ^_^, but Quezon City, Phillipines

has at least one! :smoke:

Yep thats the one you need Mike ^_^

Remember, PICS AND SOUND CLIPS

Will work on 240Z and maybe early 260Z stock exhaust diameter.

It will be too small on late 260Z and 280Z as they used a slightly different

mid pipe but with the same bends and angles, (just a bigger pipe with

stock 2 inch diameter).

Both are complet bolt on sets with a Header, down pipe, mid pipe (which is

what Mike B has found) and either a Twin Stack or dual tip side by side

resonator exhaust tip completing the set as the fourth piece.

So it's a 4 piece set listed in order from front to back.

I saw that last night and was wondering why it was up there for so long! LOL

Hmm...I might have a complete ANSA exhaust to sell soon =)

Clive, if you come across that Header we must talk ROFL

Ok I live down here by Stephen and although I do not want to copy his car too much - I like his exhaust. My car just came Friday - an early 260 that is all original but not for too long.

What size are these Ansa's?? They are 1 into 2 are they not?

I am likely to go a mostly custom exhaust. Before now I was thinking Rebello 2.5 3 into 2 headers and a twice pipes style rear set up.

Because you dont see these cool ANSA's everyday I would like to have them but I dont know which muffler or resonator to use .

My only other idea would likely be a Borla 2.25 or 2.5. Would these tips work and sound "great, wonderful and delicious" without me having to re-work everything when I get there. I am sure with ENOUGH weld, cut and fab anything would go but I am trying to make it "more" direct fit.

Thanks.

Well dont worry about offending me on getting the same exhaust... they sound amazing, and I love hearing my zed go up through the rpm band, and it decelerates awesome as well with a nice blurble...Sounds like a vintage 70's race car. I am running a resonator as well... so without it, I cannot imagine how loud it would be. But for now, its comfortable and I can have a conversation while driving, which is good enough!

Ok, I found your post.

One has been sold and one left already so you know.

Exhaust inlet diameter is 2 inches and is a direct bolt on installation to the

stock hanger bracket lacations so no welding needed if going similar route

with the piping locations.

Twice pipes will have to converge to a single pipe or (cringe) you can

slice off the Y-pipe on the ANSA and maybe get more power and a

different sound out that case.

Other than that I'm no exhaust theory expert by far a chance, but I don't

see any problems with going from a 2.5 inch exhaust pipe to a 2 inch inlet

resonator as pros and cons have been argured both ways

But Zedy's set up speaks volume's for himself and my only advice is to

run atleast some type of glasspack or inline set up like him to keep the

ANSA from burning out prematurely and make it last longer.

Which is what the complet factory kit had any way on the mid pipe.

But as he said with out an inline then your going to most likely be

way louder.

Don't get me wrong, Borla sounds nice but you just don't get that same

"vintage 70's race car" sound and I'm all about old school ova here.

Not sure if they're repackable or not but some of the older fellas in the club

may now more on that from experince.

WingZr0,

What are the exterior dimensions of these tips. I am considering buying up some NEW ANSA tips in order to replicate this setup, but designed with the 2.5-3.0 in exhaust crowd in mind. Specifically, the length.

Thanks,

Don't have one with me now but off top of my head demensions are

26 inches long overall, 2 inch inlet with two 1 inch outlet holes,

pipe diameter of the chrome section with the red tape ribbon back to

the y-pipe is about 2.5 inches.

I'll update the acuracy once I get home and measure.

The closet thing I could find in length, as I had the same idea as you, is

the Ferrari resonnator which last I checked where going in the $3,000 price

range but comes with half the entire exhaust pipe set up.

Bassicaly you'd be canibalizing an set up made for a specific car modle.

Pretty much anything else that was close to these are discountined and

the only two I got like what your describing are 2 seperate pipes with

2 inch inlets each with 1.5 inch outlets (I'll take photos of them for you all).

Execellent though for V8 and Skyline engine conversions!

Out of all the "unversal" ANSA's from the 70's to mid 80's these where the

best ones as for as looks and exhaust diameter size goes, now NLA though.

But if you've found a private stash then by all means brother go for it ^_^

I'll keep checking my references and research to make sure I'm not missing

nothing though.
