August 7, 200816 yr comment_255650 I'm using the Crane PS40 coil, which measures out to 1.8 ohms. I had it hooked up to the ballast resistor originally, but with the issues I was having and after talking to Pertronix, they suggested to bypass it. After replacing the unit with the new replacement one, I ran it without the ballast resistor and the problems are gone. It revs nicely to 7k now.Greg Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28935-pertronix-question/?&page=2#findComment-255650 Share on other sites
August 7, 200816 yr comment_255666 I posted this question some months back, but after reading the replies to the original query, I am beginning to think maybe my coil is responsible for my tach reading 500rpm too high at idle. Could this be a possibility?Frank Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28935-pertronix-question/?&page=2#findComment-255666 Share on other sites
