I have a 1975 280z and need help figuring out the wiring for the oil pressure sending unit. There are two wires coming out of the sender but not sure where it should connect to.

Any advise is appreciated. Thanks.

ok.. I looked further. The sending unit has 2 wires coming out of it.. a yellow/black and a black wire. There is a green wire coming from the harness.

I looked at the wiring diagram and it shows only a black wire going to the sending unit.

anybody?

Are you sure you're looking at the oil pressure sending unit? There shouldn't be any wires coming from it, only terminal(s) for the harness to plug into.

The 75-77 oil pressure switch should have only one terminal. The 78 would have two since the second one would be part of the 78 fuel pump circuit which differs from the 75-77 cars.

sblake01, I apologize. you are right. The oil pressure sending unit has only 1 terminal with a harness that plugs to it.

The plug is connected to the terminal and has the yellow/black and black wire. The wire is cut.

There is a green wire that sticks out from the wiring harness.

These two sets of wires were never connected. Do you think I have a pressure sender from a 78? Should a 75-77 only have one wire from the wiring harness to plug into the terminal on the sending unit.?

Too late to edit but 75 sending unit should have a single wire with a male connector. The terminals didn't come until later but at any rate you've lilely got the wrong sending unit. That's what the 75-77 FSM shows.
