August 17, 200816 yr Author comment_256965 Man I've got to visit this forum more often.I was told, at the MJS 2008 event this past May, that my car was in a Japanese magazine. The guy that told me, couldn't remember the name of the magazine. I've been searching since.By any chance was it in this magazine. I have no idea what size pic .. it might have just a luck shot (ie .. in the background). I've got a blue z31 with VDI doors.http://www.verticaldoors.com/_product_pics/11nissan_1984_-_1988_300zx_z31products1113image_3.jpgI did not see your car in this issue. There is coverage of West Coast Nationals but all of the cars either featured or pictured are S30s or S130s. August 29, 200816 yr comment_258513 Congrats! That's pretty cool! Later on, if you can, post some pics. You are right; the quality of the paper & print in the magazines I have from Japan is second to none. Sounds like they did you proud. Okay, I received the magazines from gogriz91 in the mail today. Thanks Pete for your efforts and mentioning this here in the forum. I owe you one dude! So here is my 15 minutes of fame and I'm just glad it was for a Japanese car in a Japanese magazine. Honto ni tsugoi desu yo! There were lots of good pictures from US Z car owners and even had the MSA show covered in it too. Hope these pictures post good enough to see. August 29, 200816 yr comment_258551 yea, I was just kidding cause the magazine forgot to change the owners name on their page layout... it shows Hanns Ruth is also owner of our Z too. ha ha ha I have always admired Hanns Z, and would love to trade him too! Thanks again. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28983-us-zs-in-current-issue-of-vintage-auto-japan/?&page=2#findComment-258551 Share on other sites
August 29, 200816 yr comment_258558 Real nice spread! That will be a family keepsake for sure. It's funny how they got the owner's name wrong and it may become even funnier after translating all the text. You need a bigger display case now. August 29, 200816 yr comment_258583 Hi Marty. I need to find my old Kanji & Katakana dictionary out this weekend and spend some hours trying to pick apart some of the text. The diplay case is Mrs. Chino's. I was explaining in broken Japanese/English why the #44 on the car.... 2 time Nascar champion Terry LaBonte's old car number.1st case is hers, and the other two are the families.<a href="http://s37.photobucket.com/albums/e98/Chino240Z/?action=view¤t=DisplayCase2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e98/Chino240Z/DisplayCase2.jpg" border="0" alt="Display Case 2"></a><a href="http://s37.photobucket.com/albums/e98/Chino240Z/?action=view¤t=DiplayCase1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e98/Chino240Z/DiplayCase1.jpg" border="0" alt="Display Case 1"></a><a href="http://s37.photobucket.com/albums/e98/Chino240Z/?action=view¤t=DisplayCase3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e98/Chino240Z/DisplayCase3.jpg" border="0" alt="Dispplay Case 3"></a>sad thing is we only have a couple Z diecast models so far and one big one in the garage.
