Friar-Tuck Posted October 14, 2008 Share #13 Posted October 14, 2008 (edited) 929, This link has a brief description and cutaway, hope this makes things a bit more clear. http://www.secondchancegarage.com/public/535.cfm I'm thinking the small hole you see in the pump is not unlike a small hole in waterpumps, that would indicate a bad seal/ failure. I have also seen the crankcase contaminated with fuel due to a bad mech. fuel pump. Tuck\o/ Edited October 14, 2008 by Friar-Tuck
DeesZ Posted October 14, 2008 Share #14 Posted October 14, 2008 If the weep hole is seeping gas, I suspect that you have a bad diaphragm. On my '72, the weep hole is on the "other" side of the diaphragm from the gas. If anything comes out of there it would be oil. Check to see if your oil is smelling like gasoline and thinning out on you (indicating that you are getting gas flowing on the wrong side of the diaphragm).
