September 5, 200222 yr comment_14893 I had pretty good success repairing a hairline crack on my ’73 console by using Testors contour putty I purchased at a hobby store. I applied it using an applicator I cut out of a plastic coffee can lid. I wiped off any excess while still fresh with a damp paper towel. Once dry, I finished it off with a coat of semi-gloss model paint. You’d have to be looking for the crack to notice it.:sleepy: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2906-glue-for-cracked-center-console/#findComment-14893 Share on other sites
September 7, 200222 yr comment_15073 black. Perfect if any were to ooze where it doesn't belong.. that is if this is a black console, and not refinished in Napa red. I glued from the INSIDE surface, and carefully held so that cracks butted up tight until dry. Strong stuff, held up well.Refinish exterior surface of console using SEM brand Satin Black #15243. The SEM red-brown is a perfect match for the Napa red.
