September 4, 200816 yr comment_259272 I found good used ones in a junkyard. That might be a little more difficult in Australia though. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29153-window-roller-guide/#findComment-259272 Share on other sites
September 4, 200816 yr comment_259296 Take note that these are sided, meaning the Right hand side won't work on the Left. (They're angled to match the glass panes line of travel)And you can put two per door. This sometimes will help with the wind "sucking the pane out of the track" (See: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=31800).FWIWE Edited September 4, 200816 yr by EScanlon Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29153-window-roller-guide/#findComment-259296 Share on other sites

September 4, 200816 yr comment_259308 Enrique, where do you put the 2nd roller on each door? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29153-window-roller-guide/#findComment-259308 Share on other sites
September 5, 200816 yr comment_259320 Thanks Webdawg for those pictures. When you remove the outside stainless trim and wiper that presses against the window you'll see there are two "notches" in the inner support steel that brace the outside top edge of the door. One will have your current roller (unless the steel bracket holding it in place has rusted away), and the other will not have anything in it unless a prior owner added one. You use two of the same side rollers. Look at the pictures that Webdawg provided and you'll see both the part number to order by and also the "angle" of the individual pieces. IIRC the "angle" of the roller brackets is such that they angle towards the front of the car, and the roller's axis of rotation is perpendicular to the line of travel of the window pane. It's been a while since I've had my door panel, or the outside trim off, so I'm hoping that someone with theirs off of their door can provide pictures for everyone else.HTHEnrique Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29153-window-roller-guide/#findComment-259320 Share on other sites

That's where you'll see the second notch.E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29153-window-roller-guide/#findComment-259635 Share on other sites

September 8, 200816 yr comment_259701 Here's a shot of the old roller which shows the cutout in the door where the front side roller is installed. Note that this 37.5 year old roller is cracked thru the sheet metal at the front end. No photos of cutout in aft side. September 9, 200816 yr comment_259804 Hey "E",Are they supposed to be fitted to a 260Z ?? They weren't on "Precious" when I bought her. Also, does the glass have to be removed in order to fit the rollers??.Rick.
