Sakura rims F/S...got $4k lying around?

I'm torn, my first reaction was "ewww", but the more I look at them, they've grown on me.

The price is not what I would pay for them, not even close, I don't even think I'd pay a tenth of that price, but I'm sure someone somewhere will.

But about the price thing...I was cruising the BMW lot this morning and they had a Z4 coupe marked up $5,000 for the wheels and tires that were on it. I scoffed too.

I don't want to think about what it would cost to replace the AC Schnitzers on my old 328i. $2-3k at least.

You've got to be kidding! Any restored or very nice true vintage wheel for these cars is easily worth more than $400 a set. Rare and unusual are obviously worth far more, even if you (or I, for that matter) personally don't care for them.

Yeah, because I don't see what all the hoopla is about. I don't see this "value" in these wheels, "vintage" or not.

These are very rare wheels. They are highly prized in Japan and fetch very high prices. The wide, deep offset models are the most expensive. So much so, that Hayashi has remade the widest models. The new ones are $800+ each wheel. the originals are more valuable.

With the weak dollar, I figure that most likley, this set will sell and return to Japan.

The vintage Japanese wheel market is not for everyone. 7 years ago I bought new SSR MkII's for $1,100. Now a new set will run $1,800+. Used SSR Reverse Meshes 7'' to 9'' wide are selling reqularly at $1,200 a set. I often buy Vintage wheels at $600 a set. I don't want Panasports and sure as Hell will never buy Chinese Knock-offs, even if they are $300 for four. But that is My tastes, My hobby - I'm a wheel whore, and there a bunch of us.

To the Japanese Vintage wheel collector the The Sakura/Yayaoi are the holy grail. To eveyone else - They're as weird as Japanese Vintage Wheel Collectors!

4k I laugh. I got a set of those in the attic, still looking for someone to refresh them up. didn't pay 4k for them got them from a pick and pull yard with tires for 35 a piece.

if you havent been to that site, its pretty sexy. yes, the wheels

are of a flower design, but i would most definatley not mind having

Dude, the thread is two years old and the ad no longer exists on the site it was posted. I don't think anyone here would really be able to answer your question. No one really seemed to care about them (except Victor and he doesn't post here anymore). You will likely have to do your own research if you want to find these.
