Z's are famous for their reliability so you shouldn't need to open the hood for a really long time. Believe it or not but the Z hood is one of the strongest hoods ever made and should be quite capable of handling any load you might put on it. As far as paint goes a good exterior latex house paint because the outside of your house is always outside so that paint is really good for outside stuff. Maybe you should find yourself an old datsun 4x4 truck, yank out all the guts from it and throw them in/on your Z? Slap on some mud tires and off you go! 280~Master Posted September 2, 2008 Share #12 Posted September 2, 2008 If it were me I would take the bumper off and bolt on a brush guard from a police car or even on from a ford ranger. Then go and get some paint from Wally world and paint the hell out of it. Make sure you get the special cold weather paint cause its fix-in to get real cold there in minnesota.
