Posted September 1, 200816 yr comment_258817 I just replaced my outer shift boot on my 240Z. The clips don't stay in place. Has anyone glued theirs in place instead of using the clips? When I replaced the shift boot I noticed that the one I replaced was glued. I think it was the original one. September 1, 200816 yr comment_258818 The boot on my '72 was not glued and the clips held very tightly. How about a picture or two so we can see what you see? September 1, 200816 yr comment_258821 If the clips are loose can't you just use a pair of pliers to squeeze them together more for a tighter fit? -Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29243-outer-shift-boot/#findComment-258821 Share on other sites
September 1, 200816 yr comment_258824 I didn't have a shift boot, let alone any clips, when I got my car. I then ordered one from MSA and installed it using small binder clips from Office Depot. Worked very well. I just removed the metal clips after I squezed them on.
