Door Pillar Vinyl Pics Please & Diamond Vinyl Source?

Hi All,

1) Anyone know of a source for 240Z the diamond pattern vinyl?

The rear kit I bought from MSA fits poorly and two pieces are undersized. Given this, I think I'd be better off making new pieces from vinyl stock. I actually sew pretty well...

2) I decided to make & install my own door pillar vinyl and upper front trim pieces from vinyl stock. Problem is, it's one of the few areas of the car for which I don't have pics. I searched the forum gallery, but could not find any.

Specifically, I'm looking for how the front vinyl piece above the windshield and the front pillar vinyl come together, just outboard of the visor mount. (One piece needs to overlap the other).

Can someone please take a pic of this area on their 240Z?

Thanks in Advance!

I've pretty much given-up on using the MSA interior vinyl kit.

1) The headliner has bubbles between the pad and vinyl cover. Can't be fixed.

2) Most of the sewn parts don't fit properly. The strut tower covers don't fit and are too small...!

3) The vertical panel cover behind the seats has a 3/8" gap around the transmission tunnel exit.

4) The transmission tunnel had to be dis-assembled, (the rear 6"), to make it fit.

My car's body is original, never been hit and unmolested. I know there is variation chassis-to-chassis, but the problems with the kit far exceed what should be expected.

I bought some "diamond" pattern vinyl and am using that to make my own vinyl parts. I'm having a local upholstery shop sew & install the rear shock tower vinyl.

Anybody else have the same experience with the MSA kit?
