Posted September 3, 200816 yr comment_259073 I saw an eBay listing for a "solid" billet (metal) front differential mount. It would certainly eliminate movement, but I'm thinking it could be pretty harsh and might require precise alignment of the driveshaft. My guess is it might be OK for a dedicated track car, but not that great on the street.Just installed a new "stock" rubber front mount on mine. Not considering a switch, just curious what others think... September 3, 200816 yr comment_259108 I'd stick with the stock mount for the street. The mustache bar is rubber mounted too so having one solid mount and one flexible mount isn't the greatest idea. Something will eventually crack. Steve Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29268-solid-front-differential-mount/#findComment-259108 Share on other sites

September 3, 200816 yr comment_259159 Jmort is right. Mine had cracks too. I ran mine and endured the deafening whine from gear noise for several years. There have been posts on HybridZ bemoaning the solid mount. My solid mount now sits on a shelf as a temporary backup. Seemed like a good idea when I bought it. Ron Tyler style mount is great!... Near bullet proof. Carl Beck just posted another simpler style mount which is a nice design too. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=31777 (16th post) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29268-solid-front-differential-mount/#findComment-259159 Share on other sites
