September 4, 200816 yr comment_259235 Does it run? Looks to be fairly complete and not as rusty as some I've seen from what I can see in the pics. It will be some work but I think $1500 would be a good price for it in this day and age. I notice it has the 2400 cc valve cover. I'll even give you the correct 'OIL' cap for it. (Does anyone really still use dial-up besides my mother-in-law?) September 4, 200816 yr comment_259236 It looks alot better than mine that I paid $2,300 for. How are the floors and al the typical rust areas? September 4, 200816 yr comment_259248 I saw the ad for this car on Craigslist. It will be a project, but it looks like a decent place to start from. Let us know how it goes....... September 4, 200816 yr comment_259266 I'd vote - NONon-running, with that much rust and damage to begin with (bent front fender and left door etc) - I wouldn't touch it. Personally, I'd want to start with a far cleaner, good running car. I'd spend the extra $5K right up front.FWIW,Carl B. September 4, 200816 yr comment_259268 I am kind of on the fence with this one. I agree with the poster above as I spent 6k on a very clean car that was complete with super minor rust and good running drivetrain. My goal was to come out of it with a good runner and not have to do much work. If you are willing to spend the time money and effort go for it. Just depends on what you are looking for. If your goal is to have a fairly original example, this one has a lot to recommend it.On the other hand, if your goal is to modify and customize a Z, you might look for a later car that might be in better shape for similar cash. You will be paying a bit of a premium on this one to buy a early car.So my vote would be a solid Maybe.I still love the early pale yellow 240Zs! Probably my favorite color for them. September 4, 200816 yr comment_259276 I also vote a maybe. The hood and doors are easy to replace and should be easy to find good ones in CA. It would depend on how the floors, rear hatch, battery area, and the underside of the car (frame rails, etc) look.-Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29283-opinion-needed-56k-sorry-pic-heavy/#findComment-259276 Share on other sites
