tholt29 Posted August 2, 2010 Share #74 Posted August 2, 2010 John will be there... He's always slow about registering... The first deadline is not until 8/11 so you will see a big surge in the next week or so. John won't be able to take it easy though... There are 2 or 3 cars/drivers coming to make him sweat. It's going to be a very fast and tough year to win in a Z.Tom
jmark Posted August 12, 2010 Author Share #75 Posted August 12, 2010 ^ Cool. I see JT is on the list now. Looks like a wild field. Lots of modern stuff against our 40 year classics! Good luck to all the Z racers!
tholt29 Posted August 12, 2010 Share #76 Posted August 12, 2010 It's going to be a slugfest! The big three to watch will be John, Fordahl in the 914-6 and Larsen in the BMW. The wildcard will be Berry in the EVO. He's probably not the driver that the others are but the car has >100 hp advantage on the next fastest. I'm gunning for fastest of the slow guys again! Rick Martinez had to drop out due to terminal engine troubles. That's one less Z in the fray, but we still have about 4 others.I'm just excited to see a field of 23... That's the second largest Prepared field entered. In 2004 we only had 10 entries... Tom
John Coffey Posted August 12, 2010 Share #77 Posted August 12, 2010 Here's a video of Toby in the BMW at our Divisional. The only car faster was Fred Zust's XP Elise.http://www.vimeo.com/12933891
John Coffey Posted August 12, 2010 Share #78 Posted August 12, 2010 I traded a PM with John a couple days ago and now its missing from my PM Indox. My reply is also missing from the Sent items. Weird.
JTZ23 Posted August 13, 2010 Share #79 Posted August 13, 2010 I was just wondering if you could pull a few plug wires on the BMW I am sure Toby won't notice. :-) Tom is right this is one hell of a class this year. Actually I was wondering your thoughts of the advance design struts. Tom's probably tired of me complaining about mine but I am getting my rears back from being rebuilt twice. What are some options?? John Coffey Posted August 13, 2010 Share #81 Posted August 13, 2010 I have no personal experience with the GC AD shocks but I haven't heard anything good about them. Kieth Thomas and Chet Whittle from your neck of the woods ddin't like them at all on their ITS 240Z.The S30 really needs a good set of shocks to handle well - second only to a LSD as far as lap or course times are concerned. IMHO, the bare minimum race shock is the Koni single (8610) and I put my money where my moth is (was) by spending close to $10K to put triple Penske 8760s on the ROD.
