September 10, 200816 yr Author comment_259937 Looks like you are having fun, Guus. Good to see you and your car! I like the jump photograph! Thanks Chris, Yes, we did have fun indeed. Since I discovered ‘Slowly’ I enjoy the car more than ever………..and I hope the people also... This rally was part of the WRC (world rally championship) and our group was there to entertain the crowed in between. We aren’t allowed to do timing but we go sideways and make a lot off noise, like in the old days. :love:it. And next spring to Monte Carlo? The Monte? The historic or the WRC? If anybody needs me with my service car at the historic’s, we can discuss. WRC is out of the question. <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/datsunholland/RxNGkQlptFI/AAAAAAAAAmo/YLqPJApwQgU/s800/IMG_2503.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right"></td></tr></table> I had a chance to drive the Spanish WRC coming October but my work doesn’t let me… Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29328-deutschland-rallye-2008/#findComment-259937 Share on other sites

I didn't say they were fastest 240Z because I knew that those Norwegians were faster but to know that this was Pietilä/Heikkilä´s first Monte Carlo Rally so the result was good. About my countrymen - there was Rauno Aaltonen who in 70's drove 240Z in Monte (co-driver Jean Todt) and in Safari very succesfully. They were third that year.Your 240Z has exactly the same look as Rauno´s, hasn't it?How about inside? You have your names in the fenders in Japanese, too! September 11, 200816 yr Author comment_260049 Their names yes, I asked the Japanese embassy for a translation and they did. I checked it often with asking Japanese people if they could read it..The inside is almost the same as the works cars. But I don’t have original seats; they are expensive and hard to get so I replaced them for good look a likes.
