Hi all,

just for a bit of fun, how about running a section called "Car of the Month".

I think it would be a way for members to show that someone has done a great job of maintaining/restoring an S30 car.

Maybe cars should be nominated by other members, or perhaps we can randomly generate 10 or 20 members' names each month and those can then be the candidates to be in the running that month (i.e. vote on those 10 or 20 cars).

Ok, I begin with nominating Alan Thomas' car (HS30-H)

I love that car.... Alan can I please have it when you get bored with it????

What do others think on this feature????

Hey Cuong,

Your idea is awesome. In fact, I've been considering the invent of something like this to make my life easier. The current system is set up based on a decision that I make. Ie: When it's time to change the ride of the month on the main page, I look through the galleries and make a decision. Right now, there aren't any rules and I make my decision based on quality of work, time spent on the system, amount of pictures posted, and basically a nice car.

I am totally up for automating the system so that users can vote. That will require some coding skills and time. I have the skills, but, I really don't have the time to create a new system. If anyone knows PHP and SQL, I'd love to hear from you. This is something that I think can be done. It will just take a little tweaking.

I have another idea Mike, this one will require no changes to programming or any type of long drawn out process.

How about if you send a PM to a member of your choosing and ask them to pick one? That will save a lot of time and hassles with programming the system, and will get an ecclectic mix of cars since everyones taste is different.

You just look around and see who is on the site at any particular time and ask them to pick one of their favorites and send it to you in an E-card which is already set up. :ermm:

Voting would just cause more problems, as you may run into problems with a majority agreeing on one car in particular. Too many nice cars are in the gallery now. A large number of members choosing from that many cars is going to be confusing to say the least.

Whacha think?:cross-eye

Don't let 2ManyZ's pick one. He doesn't know

what a running 240Z looks like :D

Acually I like the random car pick. When you start

getting into the Car of the Month stuff. You get

people voting for their friends, or the high dollar cars getting picked all the time.

I like hoew you picked EricB's car. He has been

working hard on it and isn't doing a frame off

or show type car.

Well , if the requirements are a great looking shiny car.. I will never win this honor.. But perhaps those should be the requirements.. After all what I like to see in the R.O.M. is a nice car.. I don't really need to be featured. Unless you start a "rat" catagory. I like my car, but I don't put a lot of money into things to make it look better.

Very good idea. And one that doesn't necessarily need coding to accomplish. I will be happy to do the COTM selection each month. Just send $100 and a picture of your car (no checks or credit cards, please. CASH only) to:
