Apparently the fact that Nissan made a factory V8 Z makes it easier to register a V8 Z in WA.

Do you know why this would be? I thought that seeing as it was only a test engine and not mass produced that it doesn't affect anything.

The guy who did the rover v8 swap told me this while we were having a chin wag, I didn't really investigate it any further so it's as much as I know.

It was also helped by the fact that on paper the rover V8 swap is only a small power increase (under 20%).

OK guys, here's my 2c worth,

P76, good for a boat anchor only, doesn't like reving,

3.5L Rover, only slihgtly better than the above,

4.4 President, too old,

Nissan VH41 or 45 would be the go if you wanted to keep it in the family, but (if my info is correct) didn't come with a manual geabox behind it, but could make one fit,

so why not go for the LS1 alloy chev or even better, the new 4.6 or 5.4 all alloy OHC Ford. Both these take a 5 or 6 speed behind them. If you need more grunt just add a hair dryer on each side to any of the above & that should get you mobile.
