zbane Posted September 15, 2008 Share #1 Posted September 15, 2008 I recall some time ago several members were searching for butterscotch interiors, and that many folks are looking for the 2400 valve covers, crack free dashes, and everyone wants NOS bumpers (in the box, even). So, I was looking through epay, and came across this listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1973-Datsun-240z-project-or-parts-No-reserve_W0QQitemZ330270124105QQihZ014QQcategoryZ6187QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem 1973 240z, VIN: HLS30171658 BIN: $1,600 From the sellers description: The car is loaded with parts, new seat coverings both sides, upper and lower. (still in package) NOS bumpers from Datsun, door panels, also parts not photographed but included. I don't know if it is the original motor or trans, but the trans is a 5spd and I remember these early years being 4 spds? There is also a trailer hitch which can be mounted to the front bumper brackets so the car can be flat towed, I don't know if I would trust this method for long distance but it is there, one clue this might have been set up for racing. Seems to me that this car has quite a bit of good stuff going with it and should be bought...

Arne Posted September 15, 2008 Share #3 Posted September 15, 2008 I was going to say, if it was close to me I'd already have it at that price.
DeesZ Posted September 16, 2008 Share #4 Posted September 16, 2008 I wonder how my wife would feel about a third one....? I must investigate that.... Not a bad deal.
xray Posted September 16, 2008 Share #5 Posted September 16, 2008 crackfree dash? Seems like a lot of valuable parts there for $1600. Someone local could flip some of those for a nice profit (nudge nudge)/looks at evilC
mikewags Posted September 16, 2008 Share #6 Posted September 16, 2008 Taillights, Dashboard, misc. engine parts, stock radio, steering wheel, knobs, and those rims (nice, i like)... this would make a great parts car.Other than that, too damaged IMO to think about restoring. geezer Posted September 16, 2008 Share #10 Posted September 16, 2008 I don't understand whats transpiring here. The auction is still active without even one bid, but you are in negotiation for the parts. What gives EVILC? Are you just planning on using the Buy it Now if it checks out after looking at it tomorrow?

Are you just planning on using the Buy it Now if it checks out after looking at it tomorrow?Well the plan is to look it over and come home with it. Spoke to the owner about the car and I was away and could not pick it up this past weekend. Thats why I said 90% sure, 10% leaves it up to someone to hit the buy it now before I look at it at noon tomorrow.Clive
