Yeah, hope it is. Sorry for the mix up guys, I will start a thread soon introducing myself here to this site. I am mostly on HBZ but have come to find a new love in orginal Z cars too. ;) I use the same username on Hybridz. I will post tomorrow if I got the car or not. Seller seems very honest.

How is the windshield? I'm looking for one with very little pitting. With the sun in my face my windshield looks kind of like the car was driven into a dust storm by Lawrence of Arabia!
Seth, I ended up buying a new aftermarket windshield when I painted mine. All the used Nissan glass I found were pitted, or had wiper blade scrapes.

Judging from the VIN it appears to be one of the "last" in the 240 production run, within a thousand or so. Check out Carl Beck's site for the list of numbers registered.

Hi Bonzi

The highest VIN reported so far is HLS30 172767 with an 08/73 manufacturing date.

The Classic Z Car Register on the Z Car Home Page includes only the cars that the owners have given permission to publish the data for and for which complete data has been submitted. I maintain a much larger list of VIN's/Engine Serial Numbers/Color/Owner/E-mail etc. that includes the cars from the Public Register as well as all the data that other owners wanted to keep private. The private list has just under 1000 HLS30's 69 to 73, and about 100 HS30's.

FWIW,

Carl B.

Clive

Sorry, sort of off-topic...I noticed in some of the engine pics the fuel rail loops between supply and return. When did it change to the "block" format seen on later cars?

Good find, BTW. Many serviceable parts there. After taking what you want, I imagine you could profit from them some after cleaning up and refurbishing over the winter, yes?

Ok, got the Z today and I have some news for you guys.......this car was wrecked HARD!! Clocks says 43k which I believe to be true miles due to the rust and pedal wear. If you look at the pics you can see the paint on the car is crap.....but...underneath all that ugly are, "NOS" Fenders (2), Rear Pasn Quater, Drivers Door, Front Turn Signal Valances, Hood, Hood Cowl. I put "NOS" because of course it is not true new old stock but on the backside of all the parts listed, it still shows the Nissan Factory primer grey! Dash is not cracked just needs some love to get it shiny again. I also believe that the motor came from an early 240z. I am new to now trying to remember which head came with what but here is what it has:

E31 head

2400 Valve Cover

4 screw Su's (were these mostly 70-72 then went to 3 screww 73?)

5-speed was swapped in.

The 280zx wheels look very good and have new tires mounted on them, so for anyone local this will be good for you to come look at.

The car is about 50% stripped already, please pm or post here with your needs. I will update the thread as we go along so everyone knows if parts are gone or not.

Thanks,

Clive
