April 24, 201410 yr comment_446548 Thanks, Carl. 1986 Toyota pickup. I was really looking for 06+ crew cab Frontier's and Tacoma's with 80-100k miles but was also watching the older truck market. If classic, I really preferred an 80-86 Nissan 720 ST like my past 2 but I truly hate that 8 plug motor and for some odd reason, the only nice ones I ever find have blue interiors. And I swore I would never get another after those 2. I also had my eyes peeled for an 87-97 Hardbody but growing up, I loved the V6 SE extra cab and all I could find was 4 cyl regular cabs. I like 80-88 Toyotas as well so I was daily searching on ebay. This one popped up last night and was just too clean to pass up. IMO it has great character and I hate driving boring vehicles. Plus, I feel confident with a detail and my photos, I could easily break even or make money on it should I ever sell. With the Frontier's and Tacoma's, they would only depreciate and wouldn't be nearly as cool It has all new suspension, no rust anywhere and is 100% mechanically sound. It has been painted but from the 100+ photos in the add, it was an incredible job. April 30, 201410 yr comment_446916 Here's my garage today, just got the 240 running after sitting four years. I planned to share my garage right after we got the Audi but that was over a year ago. Anyway better late than never. Also the mods done to my Samurai, in the back, are listed in signature. May 2, 201410 yr comment_447046 no cars worth posting - other than the z of course... built 43 one a while back: custom frame, bodywork, exhaust, gsxr front end, ducati ds1000 engine and supersport swing arm. pulled off the efi and set up an msd ignition off the layshaft pulley, then fit a pair of flatslide carbs on it. 335 lbs with a full tank of gas - it has an intense desire to rotate about its rear axle in the first 3 gears... 42 is a slightly less extensive build, donor bike was 2006 ducati sport classic, custom fairing, exhaust, gsxr front end, seat/tail and a few other bits. this one is my touring rig - have another seat that will accommodate my wife. we do 1,000 - 2,000 mile trips every summer. great fun! May 4, 201410 yr comment_447190 Yeah, I love old Yotas too. I've had seven of them over the years. I'm truckless right now though after a woman hit me in January and totaled my Tacoma. It's the first time in about 20 years I haven't owned one. May 5, 201410 yr comment_447264 You know you may want to just enjoy it stock. Those things are nearing legendary status on truck forums. The truck collectible market is just going to stupid high prices as well. The toyota pick up will certainly be one of the first to start climbing. May 9, 201410 yr comment_447524 Absolutely. I have no plans to modify it and actually am tempted to get some white steelies and the original graphics. The prices have been going way up for years. I paid a lot for it actually. And I agree, they will keep going way up. So have to use the bike alot this summer, cause next summer the Z will be number one choice!
