I just purchased some Eibach Progressive Springs for my 76 280z and I was wondering if anyone had any input as to which struts have worked well in the past with these springs? My dad bought the KYB gas shocks a couple months ago, still in the box for now. What I'm looking for is performance, not necesarrily comfort since the roads aren't too bad around here during the summer months when I'll be driving it.

KYB does not recommend using their GR2 struts with lowering springs. Also, the KYBs are not really a performance type shock. I'd probably go with Tokicos if ride quality is not a big concern.

For a firm ride HPs are good.

I was looking at the HPs, they seemed really good for the money, what about the tokico illuminas? does anyone have them and would they reccomend them?

I highly recommend them. They are adjustable too. Well worth the money and lifetime warranty to boot.

I think most shocks have a lifetime warranty. I know the Tokicos do, whether you are talking about the blues or the Illuminas. I think the KYB's do as well.

the KYB adjust ables not the G2s. The KYB g-2s are more for street. Stiffer than OEM but not like Tokicos . I have the G-2s and for street they are great for me. I don't do any track use . Hi speed and hard driving in the twistes with Stage 1 springs , this combo works for me . I have ridden and driven Zs with Tokicos and Illuminas , and for track use are vary good. But I found them too harsh for normal driving even on good surfaces and on a distance drive , tiring. If you are looking for performance this is the good combination. my 2 Cs
