Almost time for paint.

I dropped by the body shop today, and its actually almost ready for paint. Im sure it will be a couple of weeks still...but its close now. The hood, doors and hatch just got their final wetsand, and the body is pretty much done. They just finished all the the little metal 'patches' where needed and the seam sealer has been applied. Theres one or two little things they have to address still.

I had my phone and took a few pics for all to see. I have decided on the 110 Red, and he's going to match the color next week.

Good to see it just about ready for paint Zak. It seems to be a long time coming. I don't know why but I always assumed it was going to be 110 red. You must have mentioned that before. You guys are going to be busy all winter now getting ready for the big payoff next spring when it hits the streets. Good stuff!

I can imagine how excited you must be. I dropped my Z off at my body shop guy in late May, he said it would be back in my garage by late July.....he's about halfway done right now and all I can think about it getting my baby back on the road. I'm looking forward to seeing your finished product soon!

I'll see your May to July (they never seem to guess right) and raise you a Oct 18th 2006 - Sept 24th 2008 and still counting. The sad thing is I did all the metal work, patches, new quarter, new right front framerail, subframe connectors, cage and one floorpan. So all he was left with was a fairly straight car with all the nasties already removed. But I did tell him take however long it takes to be certain it is perfect. Guess I got what i asked for. Keep your heads up it will be worth the wait.

Jeff,

I dropped my car off - free of paint, total bare metal last year October. I also told him take as long as you want, do it between jobs. So it will be a year they've had it. I knew going in it would take at least 6 months. They have done alot of little things to make it 'correct' and there was some metal work that had to be done. Im not complaining because while shes been out Ive redone the motor, and done alot of little things. No complaints at all here. For the price I'm going to pay, I did well.

EDIT: I just re-read your post and saw the 2006. Wow. I would be more than a little impatient after 2 YEARS!
