The Air Force has my wife and I stationed out here in Florida, 1500 miles away from our real home in Texas. I am glad to find an active Z community out there. I searched around the internet and found several forums with the latest comments made over a year ago!

I've been interested in the early Z-cars off and on since I was very young, but never bought one. Now I'm finishing up a boat rebuild that I started this spring in hopes of selling it with a decent profit in early 2009. Once I grab that little chunk of change I really want to start into a 280z project that I can keep over the long term.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning all I can about these cars before I dive in to a project head first.

There are a lot of us in Florida! There are actually a few in your area that I'd like to meet. A few of them race and could help with advice and parts leads. Check the HybridZ site for the East coast Z owners. There might be a few that we don't have on this site.

I think it would be better to sell the boat sooner than later. Soon, people will start to sell their personal/luxury items as the economy sours. (Just opinion) I've seen lots of Jet skis, boats cars etc going up for sale as people get laid off and try to make the mortgage. Perhaps this can work to your advantage as there may be someone needing to part with an old Z un their back yard.

I'm in Central FL but pass through your area every other week. (In the company vehicle not the Z)

Glad to hear that the Z's can survive out here in the salt air. Just looking around I haven't really seen many since I left Texas. It has made me a little nervous that they are going to be tough to find in Florida.

The only issue is most of the Z guyZ are in Cleveland for the ZCCA National Z convention!

They will all be back the end of the week/first of next week, then you will get some replies from the Z powers in your area.

I am in Cleveland with them, and to my knowledge they are seriously enjoying the Z immersion you can only get from attending a convention. I have my boys with me, so I am a bit more limited in my revelry than some of the other Convention attendees!!

The Hooters was closed, but I am sure 26th, Carl Beck, Jim Peters, et al found some other place with hot servers, cold beer and atomsphere!

You are in one of the right states to find a great Z-but check it out carefully(of get one of the local members to check it out with/for you)

We are actually from the Lubbock area. So when we do come back, we are aiming for somewhere in that part of Texas. Although we may end up having to head to one of the big cities where jobs are more plentiful.

I found a Z here in Colorado that is rust free, and super clean. I am not a big Z fan, so If anyone would like to buy it, (719)749-2632. I will use that money to finish restoring my 67 chevy.

JB, welcome to the Space Coast. I live over in Melbourne and have a 71. A close friend has a 77. There are a number of Z's here in the area. Not too much on the used car lots or in what few junkyards are left here, but there are some daily drivers around that could use some TLC if the owners wish to give them up. We had an active club in the area, but interest has waned. The Central Fla. club and South Fla. clubs are very active and would be more than willing to help you out.

Good to meet 'ya George. A daily driver is probably the best bet for me. I'm not really interested in a major tear down and rebuild (been there, done that on a past project). I really want a good car that will serve as a base for minor modifications so that maybe I can get into a little racing.

That's pretty impressive that you relocated your car after 30 years. As of about 5 years ago I still knew the owner of my very first truck, but other than that every vehicle I've gotten rid of is long gone. Of course none of my vehicles have been worth tracking down again.

I did have a 77 Jeep CJ5 that I really loved in highschool, but I have no reason to dig it up again since my grandfather has a 79 CJ7 that is in better condition that he will give to me whenever I am ready for it.
