Posted October 10, 200816 yr comment_262916 10-08-2008 11:47 PM We often give Toyota a hard time about not doing enough for the enthusiast (especially old school ones) here at JNC, but we’re glad when the Big T proves us wrong. Toyota recently sent an email out to its e-subscribers about this Sunday’s Japanese Classic Car Show. They also posted the article on their Behind the Wheel website. Notice that they cut out the other cars (except the Corolla) from the flyer. Ha ha, just kidding. Unlike Nissan, Toyota is an official sponsor of the event, and we nostalgists are pretty thankful for that. We’re also jazzed that they’re telling non-vintage customers about it! Click for coverage from the 2007 and 2006 JCCS shows. Thanks to Toyotageek for the tip! More... October 10, 200816 yr comment_262925 Didn't Mazda pony up last year? Nissan's way behind the curve on this one. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29630-toyota-supports-jccs/#findComment-262925 Share on other sites
October 10, 200816 yr comment_262929 I don't see that changing either. Nissan botched things up by creating the name Datsun and then dropping it since most of their cars in the US that would fall in the "JCCS" catagory are Datsuns. Had they kept the name as Nissan all along we'd be talking about Nissan 240-260-280Zs, Nissan 510, 810 etc. and it might be a little easier (read profitable) for them to support these shows. October 10, 200816 yr comment_262930 but they don't support anything else other then the national Z convention, I just wish they were more involved and it could start with local clubs, because I don't see the ZCCA making much of an effort to get more involved with the local clubs either and they are the ones that are the direct tie to Nissan or at least that is why it was created. ah don't get me started, as a president of a local club I feel isolated and left to my own devices Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29630-toyota-supports-jccs/#findComment-262930 Share on other sites
October 10, 200816 yr comment_262934 That's a slightly different subject, I think. Having not been to a National Convention as yet, I'd ask; Does Nissan actually show up and represent themselves as a sponsor or is it just the ZCCA who, as you said, has ties to Nissan?
