Posted October 13, 200816 yr comment_263162 Re posting. Windshield wipers on my 72 240 work, but not much difference between the 2 speeds. Slow. Linkage has been cleened and lubed. The wiper motor came out of a fairly low mieage car. Do you think the problem is in the motor or in the colum switch? Thanks. Bill. October 13, 200816 yr comment_263168 No, slow and slower seems to be about right. About the only thing you can do is to change the motor to another style. There's a thread regarding the Honda Civic motor that you can search for.HTHE Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29646-windshield-wipers/#findComment-263168 Share on other sites
October 13, 200816 yr comment_263175 I Had the same issue. I removed the wiper pivots from the car and disassembled them. Although they turned freely I was surprised at the amount of rust in them. I cleaned up the shafts on the wire brush and used a dremel with a wire brush on the bores. I reassembled with grease and the wipers worked like new. Not as good as retrofitting a modern motor but a whole lot easier.Derek Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29646-windshield-wipers/#findComment-263175 Share on other sites
