October 13, 200816 yr comment_263196 A relatively flat torque curve and a broad HP curve. Certainly looks like something you can work with.I assume these are engine-only and not rear wheel curves. Now I'm dying to get my Rebello 2.8 on a dyno. Too bad I crashed the car two weeks before I had my chance this year.:disappoin Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29653-dyno-chart/#findComment-263196 Share on other sites
October 13, 200816 yr comment_263199 So based on this, you'd be looking at about 180-185 rwhp, which in a 2,400 lb car would be quite spirited! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29653-dyno-chart/#findComment-263199 Share on other sites

Not much power before that, but that's not unexpected given other's experiences...If you can keep between 4-6k it looks to be a fun ride! Power drops off after 6k, which from what I've been told is not uncommon with standard bore roundtop SUs...next stop-Webers, right??? Hope you enjoy it! As mentioned above, please reinsert what you know of the engine specs so if someone searches for "Rebello dyno" or similar they will get all your info without spending days in Search Results Hell. October 13, 200816 yr Author comment_263218 Have the information at home, (I'm at work), but here's my recollection.Rebello "Classic" L24 Upgrade. Keeps the matching numbers w/ no external differences changes.Complete rebuild. Bored & Stroked to 2.8L, (280 crank w/ 240 rods, larger pistons). All new externals, timing gear & oil pump.Everything new on the original E88 head. Combustion chambers tweaked, ported & polished w/ new stage 2 cam & valve train components.Carburation is 48 mm SU's w/ upsized needles.Stock intake & exhaust manifolds.Smog pump removed, but remaining smog parts intact.Tuning & cam info is chart. Does this answer your questions?I plan to install the engine in about two weeks, but it will be several months or more before the car will be ready to drive. Then after redoing the exhaust system, she'll be ready for the road. Should be fun ride! October 15, 200816 yr comment_263441 I'd never thought about this upgrade before but I'm wondering how you make a head designed for the L24 pistons (86 mm ?? diameter) work with the L28 pistons (89 mm)? Perhaps it's not an issue if the piston doesn't rise above the gasket stack height? October 16, 200816 yr comment_263452 You just have to install the large diameter intake and exhaust valves... as you pointed out, the pistons never get to the head. October 16, 200816 yr Author comment_263505 I also believe they have to machine a small clearance spot on the block for the valves, but I could be wrong... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29653-dyno-chart/#findComment-263505 Share on other sites
